General Funding
The Division of Equity and Inclusion (DEI) provides funding assistance to members of the UO community to facilitate the institutionalization of equity, inclusion and diversity on campus.
Funding is available to faculty, staff, students, and academic and administrative units, among others. Examples of funding requests include:
- One-time event support
- Research support
- Professional development
- Programming or curriculum development
- Conference travel, etc.
Any funding provided must comply with current university purchasing, contracting, and travel policies. Funding requests are reviewed on a monthly basis, and are considered through the lens of equity, diversity, inclusion and the IDEAL Framework.
DEI awards are meant to provide seed funding for pilot initiatives, or ad hoc funding for special research projects, events, or other programming. Funding is not intended to provide ongoing and/or operational support for groups or individuals. It is rare for DEI to provide more than $15,000 to any one person or organization over a five-year period.
You should expect to receive a response within 4-6 weeks. If you have any questions, please email budgetinclusion@uoregon.edu.
DEI also offers two specific funding opportunities. Click the links below for more information.
