The Erickson Scholarship was established to support students attending the University of Oregon. Each year a recipient is awarded the scholarship to help cover tuition, books, room and board. The recipient is required to work with the advisors from the Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence for academic advising and support.
The scholarship, which is worth between $5,000-$6,000 per year, is renewable for up to four years provided the recipient continues to meet its criteria. Applications are reviewed by an impartial selection committee, under the guidance of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a new first-year student starting in the fall at the University of Oregon.
- Must be able to demonstrate financial need, as determined by the University [complete FAFSA or ORSA].
- Are interested in contributing significantly to the improvement of their community, as demonstrated by campus or community service and personal career goals.
- DACA and Tuition Equity students are eligible to apply.
- Open to out-of-state residents.
Scholarship Renewal
The scholarship is renewable for four years. To maintain scholarship eligibility, you must:
- Be enrolled full-time and complete a minimum of 12 credits per term.
- Maintain a minimum 3.30 UO GPA.
- Make satisfactory progress toward completion of a degree.
- Meet regularly with an assigned CMAE academic advisor.
How To Apply
There is no separate application for the Erickson Scholarship. In order to be considered for the Erickson Scholarship, students must apply to the Duck Excellence Scholarship (DES), formerly the Diversity Excellence Scholarship. Deadline for the DES is January 31.
