Mr. Rafael Lopez joins the Division of Equity and Inclusion as a Programs Coordinator with over 12 years of experience providing culturally specific and competent service to the community. Working nearly a decade in the Portland Public School systems as a Facilitator, Teacher, Coordinator, Mentor and Advocate, he carries a deep commitment to working with marginalized and underserved communities. Combined with the outreach and event organization experiences gained working as the Education Specialist and Accredited Representative at a non-profit Immigration Legal Services Firm, Mr. López transfers these skills to provide leadership in project promotion, execution, management, and evaluation at DEI.
As Programs Coordinator at DEI, Mr. López works to assure that these projects align with the overall vision of the division to celebrate diversity, facilitate equity and inclusiveness, and inspire positive change.
