This year’s artwork is Strong Stalk

"The PRIDE awards were originally conceptualized by Leilani Sabzalian in her role as the Native American Retention Specialist at CMAE in 2014. They were originally called the STAR (Service, Tradition and Academic Recognition). The inaugural artwork uses University of Oregon colors in a Star Quilt pattern, reminiscent of traditional sewing craft common among makers in many tribes. The pattern is made of small diamonds pieced together in eight sections, joined together to create the eight-point star, sometimes referred to as Morning Star."

Lemuel Charley is an alumni of the University of Oregon.
