Who We Are | Mission & Vision
The Latinx Strategy Group (LSG) is an alliance of faculty and staff collaborating to improve educational access and equity among Latinx students at UO and in the community. Our mission is to support the academic and professional development of Latinx faculty and staff, make mentoring and advocacy work for and with Latinx students visible to the wider university community, coordinate with networks of support already in place, and advocate for the expansion of resources.
Activities | Initiatives
- Monthly meetings during the academic term to stay up to date on efforts across campus
- Social and informational gatherings with student groups to build community and awareness
- Highlight and share ongoing mentoring and advocacy work
- Act as an epicenter for the coordination of student resource access
Impact | Community
- Build cross-campus networks, breaking silos between faculty, staff, and students
- Facilitate mutual learning—e.g., staff understanding faculty challenges, and vice versa
- Provide supportive gatherings—social, cultural, and virtual—to foster belonging and resiliency
Meeting Dates & Times
LSG meets in-person and at times virtually to accommodate our members who work outside of Eugene.
