Call to Actio

At the University of Oregon, equity and inclusion are about ensuring that all of students, faculty and staff achieve their highest potential. We do this through the power of love—intentionally nurturing the growth and development of every individual in ways that build excellence, wellbeing, and the common good.

Our community reflects Oregon’s diverse topography. It’s as enduring as the Cascades, vast as the Coast and fertile like Willamette Valley--with ideas and people that positively impact the world. Like the High Desert, our people are resilient through challenge and adversity.

Together, we’re cultivating a flourishing community that is as vibrant as the land itself.

Our work focuses on four areas:

Our advisors are cultural navigators who connect our students with resources and opportunities to reach their academic potential. We collaborate to prepare Ducks for impactful lives and meaningful careers.

We shape collective experiences that strengthen our shared commitment to one another and to our future. We seek to foster a community where love, growth, well-being, resilience and purpose are at the center of all that we do.

We foster inclusive practices that  enhance  our collective ability to adapt, improve, and innovate in ways that serve all members of our community.

We collaborate with campus and higher education partners to provide  connections and resources for meaningful impact and leadership in Oregon and around the world.

Redemption: Lighting the Path Forward – An International Women’s Day Reflection
March 8, 2026, marks the 115th Anniversary of International Women’s Day. In light of the ever-changing landscape of our world, International Women’s Day is a time for us to intentionally pause and reflect on what is working well for women and girls. It's also a time to reflect on what we can do collectively to help women and girls around the world reach their full potential to build the common good.
From Rural Roads to Scientific Impact: The Ongoing Quest for Quality Education
Black History Month is celebrated every February, and this year it overlaps with Tu B'Shvat, the Lunar New Year, Mardi Gras, Lent, and the beginning of Ramadan. In many ways, Black History Month marks the celebration of the ways in which Black people have utilized quality education as either a route to personal freedom as well as overall societal impact and advancement.
Stories That Heal: Commemorating Native American Heritage Month through Theater and Tradition
This November, the stage at Very Little Theatre’s Stage Left will come alive with BlueJay’s Canoe, a poignant and humorous play by Professor Emerita Theresa May and Elder-in-Residence Marta Lu Clifford (Chinook, Cree, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde). Running from November 7 to 23, the production tells the story of two contemporary Indigenous families navigating life, loss, and legacy.
