Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence (CMAE)

The Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence (CMAE) is a place where students are empowered, engaged and nurtured for success. Our vision is to build and empower an inclusive and diverse community of scholars who exemplify academic excellence and inspire positive change. Our mission is to promote student retention and persistence for historically underrepresented and underserved populations. We develop and implement programs and services that support retention, academic excellence, and success at the UO and beyond.

Announcements

Applications are now open for the 2016-2017 Student Leadership Team (SLT)! SLT is comprised of a dynamic group of students who serve as facilitators, trainers, peer educators and mentors to incoming students during and after the New Student Fall Retreat. To become a member of the SLT, students have to submit an application and be selected by a committee of professional staff. When accepted, they have to commit to a ten-week leadership training. In the fall, the SLT, together with CMAE staff facilitate the off-campus all-expense paid retreat for incoming students of color.
