Home Town:

Rosa is a first-generation college student and grew up in Oregon.

Alma Mater:

Rosa is a “Double Duck.” She has a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in International Studies and Spanish and a minor in Environmental Studies. She also earned her JD from the University of Oregon School of Law.

What is your best advice for a student just starting at the University of Oregon?

Being in college means learning outside the classroom. There are a variety of opportunities to chose from, so take advantage of all the activities on campus! You can explore Eugene and Oregon with the Outdoor Program. You can learn from speakers, go to concerts and movies, etc. You can try new things, meet new friends.

And also, don't skip class and go to office hours.

Do you have any special skills, talents, interests, or hobbies?

Outside of work, I love to spend time at the Oregon Coast with family. I have a lot of unfinished craft projects. And an ever changing stack of to be read books.

If you didn’t work in the CMAE what would you be doing?

I would love to be a Yoga teacher. Or a music DJ.
