UO Employee Climate Survey 2022: Closing the Survey

Appreciation and Survey Transitioning

The IDEAL Climate Survey of University of Oregon Employees is transitioning to the analysis phase.

Thank you for your valuable participation in the 2022 survey. To celebrate the successful completion of the survey, and as a small thank you, the Division of Equity and Inclusion provided discounts to activities for all university employees. These activities have now concluded.

55% of employees (instructional and research faculty, officers of administration, classified staff, and graduate employees) participated in the survey. Final participation number will be published on this website when finalized.

You voice and input will help us learn more about our UO culture and how to best support all employees in inclusive and equitable ways. Creating a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment is central to our mission as a public institution and a research university dedicated to the free and open exchange of ideas.

Reporting Results

A report on the findings has been published to this website.

A message was sent to campus in June 2022 with access to the findings. Gallup will continue to work with the analysis team to provide more detailed analysis.

An action-planning committee will work to recommend action steps in consultation with diverse campus entities.

In fall 2022, Gallup will present more detailed results to campus, which will also be shared with individual schools, colleges, and administrative units. All findings shared at the school, college, and division level will be shared in ways that ensure data confidentiality and anonymity.

Future Timeline

Further evaluation of results and action planning will take place over the summer. Implementation will begin in the fall of 2022 and be ongoing as part of our efforts to improve policies, processes, and working conditions at the University of Oregon

The university plans to conduct another climate survey in approximately three to five years to assess our progress.
