Equity Initiatives

CoDaC staff provides logistical and planning support to a range of initiatives on campus driven by faculty and staff seeking to increase equity and inclusion for particular groups on campus. These initiatives include:

  1. Disability and Deaf Studies Program – The purpose of the Disability and Deaf Studies Program is to (a) create a disabilities studies minor and/or undergraduate and graduate certificates, (b) develop a faculty development seminar, (c) assess the campus disability community and climate, (d) address intersections with race, class, gender, and sexuality, and (e) build collaborations with off-campus organizations.   2. Latin@ Strategy Group – The Latin@ Strategy Group (LSG) is an emerging alliance of faculty, staff, students, and community members collaborating to improve the educational access and equity for Latin@ students, faculty and staff at the UO. Contact Person:Rosa Chavez-Jacuinde
  3. DREAMers Committee – The DREAMers Committee brings together a network of university faculty, staff, and students to evaluate and promote best practices in programs, funding, outreach, and policy to better serve undocumented students at the University of Oregon.   4. Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Strategies Group – API SG provides a forum consisting of faculty, students, and staff to present, discuss, and act upon issues relative to the Asian and Pacific Islander community on campus. API SG seeks to identify, increase awareness of, and suggest strategies for Asian and Pacific Islander issues through education, empowerment, and advocacy with an emphasis on fostering a diverse and inclusive environment focused on coalition building to better serve the campus community. Contact Person: David To
