Kimberly Johnson is the Assistant Vice Provost for Advising and directs two offices: the academic advising component of the Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence (DEI) and the Office of Academic Advising (UGS). This collaboration enables a much more seamless integration of student support efforts across campus where she is focused on the advising units ensuring student success, retention and completion.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Ethnic studies at UO, and a Masters in College Student Personnel with emphasis on diversity and student retention from the University of Maryland College Park. Prior to being at the UO, Kimberly was an Assistant Dean at UC Berkeley and Oregon State University. Kimberly was awarded the 2016 Officers of Administration Leadership and Service Award from the University Senate. She serves within the Oregon community through her membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Inc. and as a board member of UO Black Alumni Network. Outside of work and volunteering, Kimberly spends time with her husband and two young children.
