Barbara was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and attended Earlham College in Richmond, IN, earning a degree in Education and Spanish. Barbara retired from American Airlines, after a long and adventure-filled career. The flexibility of her schedule with American allowed her to engage her passion for teaching by tutoring college students in English and Spanish language skills. She moved to Oregon from Virginia, three years ago, with her husband, Kevin, when he accepted a position at the University of Oregon, and promptly became involved with community organizations such as Committed Partners for Youth and TrackTown USA.
In her spare time Barbara enjoys interior decorating and remodeling projects, as well as upcycling furniture and other thrift store finds. Since moving to Oregon, she and Kevin and their dog, Foxy, have become big fans of being outdoors and experiencing the beauty of Oregon.
